Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Gracewood Healthcare Ltd is fully committed to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, and all forms of exploitation within our operations and supply chain. We recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights and to act ethically and transparently in all aspects of our business.

Our Organisation

Gracewood Healthcare Ltd is a CQC-registered care and supported living provider based in Northamptonshire. We deliver person-centred support to young people (17 years 11 months–26 years) and adults and older adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.

Our services include standard supported living in shared homes and enhanced supported living in solo placements. We employ skilled and vetted staff to provide high-quality, compassionate care in line with our regulatory responsibilities.

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain primarily consists of:

  • Employment and recruitment partners (for occasional agency staffing)
  • Property and accommodation partners (e.g., our Community Interest Company housing provider)
  • Approved suppliers for training, equipment, and professional services

We expect all partners and suppliers to share our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and all relevant employment laws.

Our Policies

Gracewood Healthcare Ltd maintains robust internal policies that support our stance against modern slavery, including:

  • Safeguarding Policy (Adults & Children)
  • Recruitment and Employment Policy
  • Whistleblowing Policy
  • Code of Conduct
  • Supplier Code of Ethics

These policies set out clear procedures for identifying and reporting any concerns about exploitation or unethical practices.

Due Diligence and Risk Management

We conduct background checks and enhanced DBS vetting on all employees, contractors, and agency workers before engagement.
Our supplier agreements include clauses requiring compliance with anti-slavery legislation.
We regularly review relationships with suppliers and housing partners to ensure compliance with ethical labour and employment practices.

Training and Awareness

All staff receive training on safeguarding, whistleblowing, and modern slavery awareness during induction and through refresher courses.
Managers receive additional training to recognise and escalate concerns about potential exploitation or trafficking.

Continuous Improvement

We will continue to:

  • Strengthen supplier screening and due diligence processes
  • Conduct annual reviews of our policies and procedures
  • Raise awareness across our workforce and supply chain
  • Publish an updated Modern Slavery Statement each year
